Kinja'd!!!

Happy Birthday.

In 1996, things went automotively nuts for me with a Lads Niva followed by a Land Rover Series 3 Ute. So things are looking up for you.

:D

Last I checked I was around 5"7', so I should be good :P

That being said, a fellow Opponaut friend has a 126 in Poland and is taller than me and fits in it fine. It’s been relatively reliable for him as well, so psyched to get my own when I am finally ready to do so!

Thanks!

The Skype-session went quite well, at first it got a bit awkward because they weren’t really impressed by my grades (around an 8 on average). Luckily, later on they said that they was willing to arrange it, and were enthusiastic about having me as part of their team. If everything works out (visum and such) I should thus be able to do my internship there.

I get your problem though, back when I bought the Twingo I couldn’t make a choice either, but then my dad convinced me that this car was the best deal, so I went for it.

Those are like the German Panthers, as in they are almost impossible to kill. When I bought the Honda, I was also looking for a B4, but I didn’t really have time to shop around (needed a car within days) and couldn’t find a good one. If you can find one, get an I5, they make such a glorious noise. Life’s too short to drive cars with boring sounding engines!

All the best wishes! I know I’m a day late, but I didn’t have time to check oppo, sorry. Have your car’s spiritual predecessor.

I’ve read that you are planning on going to Canadaland for an internship or something? How lang? Will you be back for next years Oppomeet?

It really seems that 80 and 100 Audis are like cockroaches. I still see plenty of those and many of those in great shape. Too bad the Audi 90 is rather uncommon.

Around November I came close to looking at a V5 Golf but the fuel economy is terrible at around 12l/ 100km. With that consumption I’d honestly rather get a BMW with a silky smooth i6. Although I love the sound of 5 cylinder engines.

Thanks man! No worries about being a day late. Love the Clio Williams.

If everything goes to plan, I will be going to do an internship in Canada, at the University of Toronto. The current plan is to go there for 14-ish weeks, starting sometime in the summer, so I’ll definitely be back in time for next years Oppomeet.

12,x l/100km is my total average with the 1.7 ton pig. Including some slow strolling across the island but also flat out for longer periods of time on the Autobahn. They reset everything before pickup so it’s been running for the 4500 kms since I got that thing. A V5 Golf should drink way less given the weight advantage.

Dunno, according to the internet the V5 consumes between 9 and 12 l/100 km and with my driving that sounds about right. I average 8.7 l on our Golf which is supposed to average 2 litres less per 100 km.
